5 tips for teen travel

Hello, welcome back to my travel blog! In this post, I will be sharing 5 tips for all you teenagers out there. Since spring break is coming up fast and I thought that I could give you some very helpful tips to enjoy your spring break v-cay!

  1. Get off of social media/put your phone down!! In this day and age, we are all connected to technology or a cell phone in some way. So, this is the perfect time to take a break and trust me once you do this it will make you feel so amazing and accompImage result for vacationlished. I understand that you would want to take pictures of the beautiful place you’re staying at and that’s okay! But just try to limit the amount your spending your time staring at a screen and enjoy your vacation while it lasts.
  2. Take on any new opportunity to try new things! But be smart and use your head, please! Once you do this it will make you very proud of yourself and will encourage you to try more things. This will open many opportunities for you and you will overall just live your vacation to the fullest! But remember to be SMART!
  3. Use the buddy system. It’s always fun to be more adventurous and that’s fine but your most likely going to be in new surroundings that you don’t know very well. So I would recommend you travel and go places with other people to ensure your safety.  Image result for buddy system
  4. Don’t be ashamed to eat what you would call normal food or American food. Sometimes familiar food is more comforting if you’re at a new place. But I would also recommend to eat at least a little of the food at your destination. The food can be oh so delicious! Image result for mcdonalds food
  5. My last tip is to be open to strangers. Not everyone bites, but be careful. It’s okay to say “hi” to any locals or people you run into (Not literally) and try to make some new friends at your resort/ hotel!

Thank you for reading my blog! I hope you can keep these tips in mind for your next vacation or even the spring break trip you’ve been waiting for!

The scariest place I’ve EVER been too.

Hey, y’all!

Its been a while, but I’m here to share about a really let’s say an interesting and scary trip I went on.  Let’s start with the basics, I was in Cancun, Mexico. It was beautiful of coarse and everything was going really well. The first couple of days we explored, got to go in the ocean, and had baby monkeys sit on our heads and more! Everything was normal, we were living our best lives!

My family and I have been to Mexico before and it was really fun the last time we went. As some of you know Mexico sometimes is not let’s say the safest place out of the resorts. Sometimes it a little sketchy you know. Right? Well, my family and I knew this and always counted on the resorts to keep us safe, and we did. (Disclaimer, not everywhere/everything is bad there)

The second to last day, my whole family including me were on the beach playing with these little boards on the waves trying to surf (This was SOOO fun). My sisters and I were splashing in the waves and having a blast. We had noticed over the last few days on the beach that there were these two men selling things, we later learned these people were trespassing onto this resorts beach and selling cigars.  When my sisters and I were done in the water we were walking to our parents and out of nowhere many frantic people were running towards the hotel. We all were so confused and did not know what to do. Then this one man started yelling “THERES A SHOOTING BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE ON THE BEACH, GO HID IN THE CABANAS”. My whole family looked at each other frightened and started running to the cabanas. We hid under and between them, it was so scary! Many people we crying and SO SO scared. We kept as quiet as we could and remanded hiding until managers and hotel workers came and told us to go to our hotel rooms.

After this frightening situation was over my family and I were told about what the details were. It happened to be those two men selling the cigars who got in a fight, which was about both of them selling the same stuff. Then one man pulled a gun on the other. Luckily, no one got hurt or injured and they were arrested.

The rest of the trip I was on my nerve and we did not go back on the beach for the last couple days. Everything else on the trip was great it just happened to be that one event that made the trip scary:(

Well, thank you for taking the time to read my blog! I hope that nothing like this ever happens to any of you. Keep in mind this is not very common. Anyways, are there any places and/or experiences that you have been in similar to this you have been in?

3 BEST places I’ve ever traveled!

Hello, to you travel people! What’s up? Welcome to my first blog post!

Let start off strong with some of the best places I’ve ever traveled too. The place on the tippy top of my list is…( drum roll please!) Costa Rica! This by far was the most gorgeous and most unique place I’ve ever been too. One of the most distinctive features of the place was the sand (sounds boring right?) buts it is NOT just any boring tan-colored sand it was a charcoal black! At first, when we got there I was so confused about its color but I later learned that it is from the volcanic formations around the island. Along with the sand, the water was a beautiful sky blue and the tides changed so much that in the morning you could walk hundreds of feel out in the ocean on just sand. Later in the day that would be all covered up by deep water. One of my many favorite things from this trip was the wildlife. Every morning we would wake up to little baby monkeys swinging and hanging upside down around the trees. They were SOO cute and friendly, we would feed them bananas and other fruits! When my sister and I were in a cabana a monkey came and grabbed some of our grapes out of our fruit bowl! (That sneaky little thing).

Its time for my next favorite place and I would say the second place ribbon goes to Lexington, Kentucky! This place is especially for horse lovers, but anyone could enjoy it as much as I did.  Anyways this place was outstanding with the perfect green pastures with black and white fences & historical stone walls spread out amoung place. Right as set foot on this wonderful place I saw blue skies with fluffy white clouds and that warmth of the sun hit my face, it was so pretty! My favorite thing I did this whole trip was going on a tour racehorse tracks. The track I found most interesting was Keenland! It was so cool to see the track in person and actually get to see people training on it.

Now it is time for my third place ribbon to go out! Hmm, this is a tuff choice… But I think it goes to Scottsdale, Arizona. All though it is almost always above 100 degrees when we were there,  this place also had some really unique features! Like you would find little cactuses and REALLY pointy plants in random places. (My crazy sister decided to put her hand a cactus, shes so dumb sometimes). There we HUGE rock formations that you could see for miles and miles. Along with the mountains, you can go hikes like through Camelback Mountian which is a popular place for tourists! They are many more things you could do there like  Go to Old Town Scottsdale which has hundreds of shops and restaurants! The thing that was so different was the houses, they were totally different then what you would see in Wisconsin. Many of them were rustic orange color, with the roof that has tiling on them and they were made out of some type of stone.  Overall this place was an amazing place to travel and there were so many things you could do. This is a place everyone should put bucket lists!!

–  Thank you for reading my blog! I hope someday you will travel to these incredible places, where would you like to go?
